Meet Baby Hunter
I love this couple for so many reasons!! Not only are they super down to earth and fun but what happened at their newborn session still has me cracking up.
Fast forward to when their precious bundle arrives and we discuss their newborn session. I pack up my van with everything needed from wraps and hats to props and backdrops to take to my clients' homes. To help me plan for these sessions I always send a questionnaire to my clients to fill out. One of my questions and their response is as follows:
Yes, two little girls ages 2 and 3 - wearing their fur coats of grey/brown stripes and tan/brown stripes (some may call them tabby) ... we would love a pic of the kitties and Hunter ❤️
Great! 2 little girls, and I've got some fur to match. So.....I pack up my things on the date we chose and head to their house. Upon entry I notice it's unusually quiet so I ask Rachel where her two girls are and she looks at me confused and says, "This is my first child, I don't have any other kids." Ummmmmm......what? I remind her of her answer to my questionnaire and she bursts out laughing and explains that she was literally referring to her 2 female cats!!! I died. I literally packed faux fur that seemed like it would match perfectly and had been envisioning how I would photograph these two obviously adorable little girls in their super cute fur coats with baby brother. I couldn't stop laughing. Yes, she had put "kitties" in her response but I refer to my own children at kiddos and to me it just seemed like a nickname. I thought it was a little funny that they hadn't included their other "kids" in their maternity session but maybe they wanted a more intimate and relaxing session. So.......yup, 2 cats.
What did I learn from this? To definitely clarify any animal nicknames in the future and maybe add a question that asks about photos with any pets so there is a totally separate question. Hahahahahah!
